Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is Team Ninja’s most social game yet, with players able to team up with their friends to push back the evil gripping China. For those wanting to be a little less social and those wondering if there will be a way to play the game if its online capabilities ever disappear, you’re probably questioning if there’s a way of playing Wo Long offline.
Well, the answer is yes, Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty can be played offline, but not as easily as you may like and not without a couple of drawbacks.
To play Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty offline, players must launch the game while being disconnected from the internet or not connected to online services. On Steam, for instance, you can easily enter Offline Mode with just a couple of quick clicks. However, there is no setting in-game to completely go offline, but you can go to System > Online Settings and press R3/RS to go back online.
Curiously, playing Wo Long offline seems to undo your cosmetic customisation settings, meaning that you end up looking like one of the default selections. You also still can’t properly pause the game despite being offline, either, which is an oversight.
However, if you want to play online but don’t want other players to invade you, there is actually a setting to change. Simply go to System > Online Settings and switch Invasions by Hostile Players to Do Not Allow.
Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X & S.
