Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is different from a lot of Soulslikes out there in the fact that you can spend the entire journey accompanied by an AI partner. You’ll encounter a lot of different partners throughout the game’s story, with each one offering their individual strengths and weaknesses that’ll make them an asset worth taking with you onto the game’s various Battlefields. You can even forge bonds with the different allies you meet, which in turn reaps its own benefits.
Here’s everything you need to know about forging bonds with allies and partners in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty.
How To Deepen Bonds With Allies
Players can deepen bonds with allies naturally by simply playing Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty with a chosen partner or two by their side. By completing Battlefields and defeating enemies, your bond with an ally will naturally rise, so the easiest way to level up your bond with a certain character is to just keep playing.
That being said, you can speed up the process by offering a Cup of Cordiality to one of your partners, which will boost the amount of Bond EXP they currently have. Cups of Cordiality are rare items, which can be found by exploring the different Battlefields and defeating powerful enemies. While you shouldn’t use them frivolously, they can be a great way to massively boost the amount of Bond EXP an ally has.
What Benefits Are There To Raising Bonds?
Deepening a bond with an ally can wield some huge bonuses. At level 5, each partner will unlock a new stat buff, making both you and your ally more powerful when fighting together, but the real bonus comes at level 10, as you’ll unlock a replica set of that person’s gear, including armor and weapons. These items are usually pretty strong, and given that they’re a guaranteed reward, it’s worth grinding for them.
Raising bonds with your allies and becoming stronger is a pretty necessary part of Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, because you’re going to need all the help you can get trying to earn the Heroes Will Rise achievement/trophy.
Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X & S.
