When it comes to achievements and trophies, most of the list on offer in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty are pretty straightforward, but there are a couple that require players going out of their way in order to earn them. One of them, Heroes Will Rise, concerns a certain dragon who pops up during a level in Part 4, and if you’re hoping to get the achievement, you’ll have to take him on.

Here’s everything you need to know about how to earn the Heroes Will Rise achievement/trophy in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty.

What Is The Heroes Will Rise Achievement/Trophy?

The Heroes Will Rise achievement/trophy in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is earned for “repelling” Xielong in the Part 4 Main Battlefield titled “Centuries Of Glory Burned Away”. Part way through this level, you’ll have to navigate your way through a market section filled with demons. Sounds daunting in and of itself, until you realise that the dragon Xielong is sat on a tower in the middle of the area, raining down lightning from above. What was already hard quickly turns into something quite intimidating, but you’ll need to face Xielong head on in order to earn the Heroes Will Rise achievement/trophy.

Earning the Heroes Will Rise achievement/trophy will require some significant effort on your behalf, but once you’ve got your strategy in place, it’s not too bad. First things first, you need to complete the rest of the level first before coming back. Xielong sits at a Morale Rank of 21, while when you first encounter him, your rank will likely be in the single digits. Because of this, it’s wise to come back once you’ve got your rank to at least 20, as that’ll make the fight easier to deal with.

Next up, stock up on all the ranged ammo you can grab, including arrows and throwing knives, and make sure your ranged weapons are as fully upgraded as possible. You can buy them as supplies using Copper from any Battle Flag. Once you’ve done that, head back to the market area, specifically to the Battle Flag inside that area. When coming from the starting area of the level, the Battle flag can be found to your left, but you’ll have to navigate through some walls and demons to get there.

Between the market’s Battle Flag and where the Dragon is perched, there’s a particular area that has a roof over it, as you’ll need to jump around above the market to get all the items in this area. This small area is protected from Xielong’s lightning blasts, so you can use this area to pop out, nail a shot or two at Xielong’s head before retreating to safety. So long as your careful with your shots, your gear is fully upgraded and you’ve cleared out the additional enemies, you should be able to repel Xielong before you run out of ammo, who’ll retreat after you’ve taken around two thirds of his health. Once you’ve done that, the Heroes Will Rise achievement/trophy will unlock.

If that’s still proving to be too much trouble, you can simply return to this level again after you’ve made some progress in the game, particularly with higher level gear and more ranged weapon damage. This’ll make repelling Xielong a much easier prospect, so don’t worry too much if you’re struggling too much first time around.

Once you’ve completed the Heroes Will Rise achievement/trophy, you might still need some help with other side quests in the game, so here’s a guide on how to find the Taoist’s House Keys.
