UPDATE: That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime The Movie: Scarlet Bond will be arriving to Crunchyroll from April 21st, 2023.

ORIGINAL STORY: Two seasons, one spin-off anime, and a total of 60 episodes later, That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime has become one of the biggest isekai successes of the modern day. Unsurprisingly, the smash hit anime franchise has now received a movie set to debut in November 2022. With the anticipation being so high going in, naturally, you’ll be wondering where to watch the Reincarnated As A Slime movie online.

Regrettably, That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime The Movie: Scarlet Bond will be released on November 25th, 2022 in Japanese theaters only. Though it’s sad news for anime fans around the globe that the film won’t be available to stream online from day one, Crunchyroll has stated that the film will arrive in all major global regions (excluding Asia) in Early 2023, but that too will be exclusive to theaters. Aside from the sub version, a dub for the film should also accompany the international release in 2023.

Unfortunately, there has been no official statement as to when the movie will be released on streaming platforms like Funimation and Crunchyroll. However, if we were to follow recent trends of movie arrivals, then we’d say you’ll see That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime The Movie: Scarlet Bond launch for streaming and Blu-Ray sometime by Fall 2023.

For now, the Reincarnated As A Slime movie will be moving forward with its theatrical run, which should last for about a year or so, and afterwards, hopefully, then you’ll be able to watch the movie online on streaming services.

What Is That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime The Movie: Scarlet Bond About?

That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime The Movie: Scarlet Bond is a totally original storyline that won’t be adapted from any previous source material, but you needn’t be worried as series creator Fuse has still penned the film’s plot. The story has been teased to take Rimuru and the Jura Tempest Federation’s members to Raja, a land where an ominous new evil has emerged.

Here’s the official synopsis for the movie:

“A long-running conspiracy is swirling over a mysterious power known as “Queen” in Raja, a small country west of Tempest. When a slime who evolved into a Demon Lord named Rimuru Tempest crosses paths with Hiiro, a survivor of the Ogre race, an incredible adventure packed with new characters begins. The power of bonds will be put to the test!”

That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime The Movie: Scarlet Bond has a total run-time of 108 minutes, while it hasn’t yet been confirmed whether the movie will have a post credit scene.

Do I Need To Watch That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime The Movie: Scarlet Bond?

Scarlet Bond will be a totally new chapter in Rimuru’s life, and though it isn’t one based on the manga, it’ll undoubtedly forge the roots for That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime: Season 3. Nevertheless, studios in general, and in this case Eight Bit, do keep in mind that some people skip franchise films, so to make the experience better, anime movies are always made in a way that doesn’t impact season elements on a heavy note.

But yes, we do recommend watching That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime The Movie: Scarlet Bond due to the sheer amount of lore aspects and character development that it’ll add to the anime as a whole. With a movie now formally included in the franchise, it’s inevitable that an announcement for a third season should soon follow, and with luck, it’ll coincide with the film’s digital release.
