The Walking Dead, Ryse Headline April 2017’s Xbox Games With Gold

Ryse Son of Rome

April 2017 is another month in which Games With Gold inarguably delivers. For all my problems with the Xbox One, I can’t deny that Microsoft hand out decent titles each month to their Xbox Live subscribers. It really, coming from someone who has both consoles, puts PS Plus’ free games to shame.

Here’s what you can look forward to over the coming month:

Ryse: Son of Rome (April 1-30)
The beautiful but shallow launch title for the Xbox One gets another chance in the spotlight. Maybe if this one does well, Ryse 2 will be on the cards?

The Walking Dead: Season 2 (April 16-May 15)
Not quite as good as the first season (then again, not many graphic adventure games are), season 2 of Telltale’s The Walking Dead still needs to be sought out. Season 3 is already off to a decent start.

Darksiders (April 1-15)
Available through 360 backwards compatibility, this charming little hack ‘n slash comes in the first half of April.

Assassin’s Creed Revelations (April 16-30)
Remember when Assassin’s Creed games came out every five minutes? Despite having one of the best game trailers ever, Revelations is quite forgettable. Still, good time to jog the memory thanks to the 360 backwards compatibility.
