Is Twice Dead in My Hero Academia?

You only die Twice.

Season 6 of My Hero Academia is proving to be the most gripping season yet for the hit anime. Currently, anime viewers find themselves witnessing the battle of their heroes against the Paranormal Liberation Front, and it looks like the villains may have taken the first major loss of the war. It looks like Episode 3 of the anime will be the final time we see the villain Twice, which follows his fate in the manga — Twice really is dead in MHA.

The episode “One Justice” proved ruthless as it killed a villain the show built up in the previous season. Jin Bubaigawara proved to be a high-risk villain in the last season, as he was a critical factor in why the League of Villains managed to overwhelm the Meta Liberation Army. As a result, it was decided that he may be a villain too strong to be kept alive.

Of all the villains that had to go down, it’s a mystery why Twice was the easiest to target despite being one of the strongest characters in the Paranormal Liberation Front. Did his death mean anything to his comrades, or were his comrades cruel to even their own people?

How Did Twice Die?

While the anime didn’t exactly show a dead body on screen, the blood running down the balcony and a patch of unmistakably pale blond hair painted a loud enough picture to send a message to viewers that the villain has fallen. The worst thing about his death is probably the betrayal he felt when he found out Hawks was still working against him the entire time.

The anime managed to portray a bit of Hawks and Twice’s time together. It seems the pair managed to build a good enough friendship for Twice to completely trust him when the Paranormal Liberation Front was established. Hawks even tried to convince Twice to give up and start over during their confrontation. However, Twice was extremely loyal to his comrades and was prepared to fight to the death for them.

Twice dies a few moments later, even after receiving help from Dabi. As Twice is rushing to help his comrades with his clones, Hawks manages to catch up to him and delivers a fatal blow to his back. His downfall is mainly due to allowing himself to trust Hawks. Out of all the lieutenants in the Paranormal Liberation Front, only Twice allowed Hawks to get close to him.

Did Twice’s Death Mean Anything to His Comrades?

Villains aren’t entirely heartless. Twice himself has proven time and time again that he would always put his friends’ well-being over his own. So while it may seem like the rest aren’t interested in forming friendships, fans can at least be content that Himiko Toga and Twice had a good relationship.

The two of them have had a pretty good friendship going on since their internship in the Yakuza organization. During the Meta Liberation Army, the sight of Toga’s wounded body pushed Twice to unleash his potential.

Moments before his death, he managed to send in a clone to rescue Toga one last time. As his final clone disintegrates and he says his goodbyes, Toga manages to catch the clone and thank her friend for saving her.
