Total War: Warhammer 3 – How to Earn Meat

Ogres in Total War: Warhammer 3 love their food and part of their life’s purpose is to try all the different types of meat out there. This extreme love of protein and sinewy food translates to their army logistics mechanic, which is meat supply. All Ogre armies have their own individual meat supply that will need to be maintained for armies to stay in the field and carry on their strategic missions. Here are the main ways of earning meat for your armies of hungry Ogres.

Since meat is related to Ogre supply lines, there are a number of buildings Ogres can build that will provide a stable source of meat to armies in close proximity. Both settlements and camps can build such buildings.

However, it is unlikely that a single settlement will be able to maintain a powerful band of Ogres indefinitely, so they will need to go find some sorry saps to clobber and convert into delicious edibles. All kinds of combat, be it field battles or sieges will generate some meat, based on the size of the army defeated. Armies can also go into a raiding stance to generate extra cash and forage for meat in the local area.

Along with buildings, a more permanent solution to improve Ogre meat supply lines is to research technology. There are a few technologies in the Ogre Kingdoms research tree which will permanently increase each army’s own meat production, letting armies venture out further from familiar stomping grounds and operate independently for some time.

For something more mobile, several Ogre Heroes, like the Butcher, will provide meat for the army they’re embedded in. Heroes not only provide tactical utility but also keep the army well-stocked and maintained for campaigning. Finally, random events may negatively or positively affect Ogre meat supply, depending on the nature of the event.
