At Gamescom today, Bandai Namco came ready to rock and roll with plenty of news regarding Soulcalibur VI. We’ve already spoken about the new Libra of Soul mode, which puts you in control of your own custom character, but they didn’t stop there. It’s been confirmed that the crazy assassin with a ring blade, Tira, will be joining the Soulcalibur VI roster as a DLC character, specifically as the bonus Season Pass character.
The trailer below showcases her trademark flamboyant yet deadly style, with plenty of style and some insane combo potential to boot. In the right hands, she looks to be an incredibly deadly character, though my hands were never right for Tira. Could never get to grips with her. Give me Maxi any day.
As you might imagine, the announcement of Tira as DLC has set the YouTube comments alight with plenty of complaints. It isn’t hard to see where they’re coming from, but for those who’ve already pre-ordered the Collector’s Edition of the game that includes the Season Pass, they no longer have to wonder if the pass will actually be worth it. There’s definitely positives and negatives regarding this one. So long as the DLC isn’t on the disc, it should be alright.
Still, it is being reported that Tira will also be available as a pre-order bonus, which is one of the most common practices in video games these day.
