Create Your Own Hero In Soulcalibur VI’s Libra of Soul Mode

Libra of Soul

One of the most requested features for Bandai Namco’s Soulcalibur VI was the inclusion of character creation and customisation. Introduced in Soulcalibur III, the feature has become a mainstay in the series, and that will also be the case for the newest entry. However, the feature is being put front and center of a new mode entitled Libra of Soul.

This new mode, outlined in the trailer below, enters you into an entirely new story mode that features the whole Soulcalibur VI roster, Geralt included. It seems this mode exists separate from the regular story mode teased a few months back, as here you’re able to explore a world map, level up your character, obtain new weapons and more. Really, it’s an updated version of Weapon Master Mode, and we’re here for it.

Analysis on the trailer itself also reveals a couple of interesting details, most notably the introduction of some new wizard character who looks set to be the big bad of this mode. Aside from that, it looks like the character customisation will be an updated version of the one seen in Soulcalibur V, as you can apply stickers and textures onto your character as you would in that game.

The broader customisation looks set to be a lot deeper too, as you now have the ability to play as custom characters that aren’t just human. From the trailer, we can see revenants, Automatons, three different variations of weird demon people, mummies, orcs, elves and even lizards. Whether that actually confirms the inclusion of Lizardman is unknown, but you’d hope. Everyone loves Lizardman.

Soulcalibur VI will launch on October 19th for PS4, Xbox One and PC. Are you excited for the Libra of Soul mode? Sound off in the comments below.
