THQ Nordic have announced the formation of a new studio, Alkimia Interactive in Barcelona, Spain, who will be working on the Gothic Remake. THQ Nordic promises on Twitter that the team will be showing off the fruits of their work later this month.

Wait, Who Are Alkimia Interactive?
Alkimia was formed back in the summer of 2020, after the Gothic Remake project was greenlit. THQ Nordic needed to create a subsidiary to handle the game’s development, and Alkimia was formed in Barcelona. The team is built up with “passionate RPG developers”, though there are a few more positions open.
Considering the team is made up of RPG developers, it’s no surprise that Alkimia will be focused on creating high quality RPGs going forward. Reinhard Pollice, Studio Head at Alkimia Interactive and owner of the best name in history, said this in a press release: “We strive to build Alkimia Interactive as a top-notch RPG studio. Our ambition is to become one of the best addresses for PC/Console core game development in the South of Europe.”
