There’s A Red Dead Redemption 2 PC Mod To Skip The Intro

Snow thank you.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is a lot of things. One of the most detailed games of all time, a hallmark of open world excellence, and brilliant character study of a man doing the only thing he knows. It is not, however, a game that understands what brevity is, especially with its much, much too long intro set in snowy mountains that crawls along at a snail’s pace.

Never fear if you’re on PC, as an intrepid modder has already found a way for you to skip Red Dead Redemption 2’s girthy intro with a simple download and a look into the game’s files.

Found over on Nexus Mods, simply download the mod created by AccidentalGenius and copy the first SRDR file from the download into your account folder in C:\Users\\Documents\Rockstar Games\Red Dead Redemption 2\Profiles.

And it’s as simple as that, roughly ten hours of your life saved, especially if you’ve already beaten the game on console. It’s a very unconventional, original opener, sure, but not something that you can play through twice with the same level of interest — it’s been the biggest deterrent from me now starting a new save.

Elsewhere in RDR 2, have you seen how crazy this game’s graphics settings are?
