Riot Forge have announced that their upcoming 2D action RPG, The Mageseeker: A League of Legends Story, will be launching on April 18th, 2023, with pre-orders now live on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X & S, and Nintendo Switch. If you’re looking to experience more from the world of Runeterra, The Mageseeker could be the game for you.
Developed by the team over at Digital Sun, who created the excellent Moonlighter, The Mageseeker is set in the kingdom of Demecia, a kingdom in the world of Runeterra. The kingdom seeks to outlaw what they deem as forbidden magic, but are still using magic themselves to maintain order, so as the escaped mage Sylas, you’ll join together with a band of rebels to lead a revolution in Demecia. You can check out the gameplayer trailer for The Mageseeker right here.
Given how successful the League of Legends franchise has become, with a spin-off animated series coming off the back of the acclaimed multiplayer title, it’s no surprise that there’s a wave of LoL-adjacent games too, with the upcoming Project L perhaps being the most exciting one. That being said, The Mageseeker should be an excellent game for people who are too titled to carry on playing regular League of Legends.
