Ryu’s Office (no, not Ryu from Street Fighter, or Ninja Gaiden) have announced that they’ll be hosting INDIE Live Expo 2020 on June 6th, a celebration of indie games and culture from not only Japan, but from around the world to boot. The event will also feature appearances from industry legends such as Swery65 and Toby Fox.

The event will be broadcast on YouTube, Twitter and Twitch on June 6th from 8pm JST to 11pm, which translates to 12-3pm BST, 7-10am ET and 4-7am PT. Finally, a gaming livestream that doesn’t actively screw over British viewers. We love to see it.

The first event of its kind, the organisers mention on their official website that the event was created with a view to “overcome the divide caused by the COVID-19 pandemic”. INDIE Live Expo 2020 aims to reach 1 million viewers, while broadcasting in Japanese, Chinese and English, and the event will feature announcements on upcoming indie games, as well as discussions regarding “masterpieces of the indie genre”.

The event will also feature appearances from notable indie game developers, including ZUN (Touhou Project), Toby Fox (Undertale and Deltarune). Swery65 (CEO for White Owls Inc., Deadly Premonition and so much more), Kazuya Nino (TYPE-MOON studio BB), and many more besides. We’ll definitely be tuning in on June 6th, but let us know if you will be in the comments.
