Nintendo have announced that they’re finally ready to reveal the next Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC character, with a short presentation set for tomorrow at 7am PT/10am ET/3pm BST. The news was announced via the below tweet.

How Many DLC Fighters Has Smash Bros. Ultimate Had?

Including a sort of free DLC promotion for Pirhana Plant, this new fighter would be the eighth DLC fighter for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. After Pirhana Plant, the first DLC Fighters Pass included Joker from Persona 5, Hero from Dragon Quest, Banjo-Kazooie from, well, Banjo Kazooie, SNK icon Terry Bogard and Byleth from Fire Emblem: Three Houses. As for Fighters Pass 2, it kicked off with Min-Min earlier this year, with five other characters yet to be announced.

Who Could This Character Be?

Well, that’s always the fun part, isn’t it? Predictions are abound on who this next character could be, but a recent leak has suggested that Overwatch’s Tracer will be announced as the next DLC character. Noted Overwatch leaker Slayersfan posted on GameFAQs in a now deleted thread to state that the series’ mascot will be added to the game, with a video package that shows Tracer receiving the Smash invitation on her computer.

For what it’s worth, Overwatch lead Jeff Kaplan, who has a mate on Twitter that apparently wants me banned from the game, has been vocal in the past about bringing an Overwatch character to Smash Bros. Ultimate. In an interview with IGN, Jeff stated that: “To the Smash Brothers team, whatever character you want, we love them all. They’re all our babies, you can have any single one of them.”

Whether or not this leak is accurate or not is unclear, but at least we won’t have to wait too long to find out.
