Street Fighter 6’s surprisingly deep World Tour mode allows players to create their own avatars and travel to different locations around the globe, challenging local fighters to scraps as you go. As a created avatar, your World Tour character has the benefit of being able to sit at the learning tree of the 18 playable characters, learning their moves and abilities. If you’ve found a master with moves you’d really love to learn, this is the guide for you.

Street Fighter 6 World Tour | How To Level Up Masters

There are three main ways you can earn EXP to level up your master, with the most obvious being earning wins with that master’s specific fighting style. In the World Tour mode’s Status menu, you can equip a specific character fighting style, which will then dicate your avatar’s normal attacks, win pose, taunts and overall fighting stance. This is separate from the special moves you can equip, and the fighting style that is equipped will be the one that earns EXP.

The other two ways that allow you to earn Master EXP are a bit more niche, but are still worth utilising if you get the opportunity. Citizens you encounter in the various World Tour locations will sometimes utilise a specific master’s style, and defeating them will earn you EXP for the master they’re using. Finally, each enemy or citizen you fight in World Tour mode offers challenges that can yield a variety of rewards. These can also include general avatar EXP and specific master EXP.

Once you’ve earned enough EXP to level up a master, you can unlock new interactions with that master, including new conversations, quests and sparring that offer opportunities to increase your bond with that master. Levelling up a master can also reward you with new special moves and super arts, allowing you to expand your repertoire.

Something to keep in mind when levelling up a master is that their level cap is 20, but you can continue to earn leftover EXP for that master which can then be transferred to other masters. On the Masters page of the Status menu, you can select the “Transfer Style EXP” option, then pick which master you want to transfer EXP from and to. This is a decent way of allowing players to carry on playing their main style while unlocking new special moves for other masters. However, the amount of EXP that’s transferred over is a fraction of what you’d earn normally, so it’s up to you if sticking with your current master is worth it.

Street Fighter 6 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5 and Xbox Series X & S.
