Training isn't everything.

Street Fighter 6’s surprisingly deep World Tour mode allows players to create their own avatar and travel the world, interacting with the various legendary fighters on the game’s roster. While you can level up your stats and abilities throughout your journey, and learn new moves from the various masters you’ll meet along the way, there’s also a third way to increase your fighting ability: equipping and enhancing gear.

While equipping gear is available almost immediately, the ability to enhance gear is only available after you’ve completed certain parts of the World Tour’s story quests. If you want to upgrade your best gear in Street Fighter 6’s World Tour, this is what you need to know.

Street Fighter 6 World Tour | How To Enhance Gear

The ability to enhance gear is unlocked in Chapter 7, when you need to head to the Mike Haggar Memorial Stadium to compete in the Novice League Tournament. After taking a ride on the subway and reaching a new area of Metro City, you need to speak to Apparel Clerk Gomorrah south of the Mike Haggar Stadium. Speaking to them will then unlock the new Enhance option at all apparel shops.

As the name would imply, enhancing allows you to improve the stats of apparel you might have equipped. In order to do so, you’ll need to sacrifice other gear in the process, with rarer gear contributing more EXP to the cause.

You can also obtain Street Fibers for the different equipment areas (head, torso, arms, legs), which are a more efficient way of enhancing your gear, giving items a massive boost in EXP. Street Fibers can be found by searching treasure chests, completing certain quests or available as challenge rewards when fighting certain civilians on the streets of Metro City and Nayshall.

It’s worth noting that each item of apparel has its own rarity, and that rarity level determines how many levels the item can be upgraded, and also how effective the upgrades are, so it’s not really worth investing a lot of resources into a piece of equipment if it’s only a common. It’s better to save your Street Fibers for when you’ve obtained a Super or Ultra tier of equipment, as they’ll let you get the most out of your upgrades.

Street Fighter 6 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5 and Xbox Series X & S.
