One of the earliest mysteries of Street Fighter 6’s World Tour mode is how to access the Metro City Subway. Situated in Beat Square, access to the Subway is blocked off by someone who insists you possess a Metro City Free Pass in order to proceed onto the subway platform instead. If you’re wondering when you’re going to unlock the Subway in Metro City while playing Street Fighter 6’s World Tour mode, or you’re just curious as to the purpose the subway would serve when the game already has fast travel, we’ve got everything you need to know.

Street Fighter 6 World Tour | How To Unlock The Subway

From Chapter 1, you’ll be able to interact with the aforementioned guard standing next to the Metro City Subway, but you’ll be waiting a while before you’re properly given access. At the start of Chapter 7, you’ll be handed a free Metro City pass by Luke as part of the story, which allows you to travel to the downtown section of the Metro City map. Previously, that portion of the map was cordoned off by police.

After obtaining the pass, head on over to the Beat Square subway entrance and speak to the guard, who’ll step aside and finally allow you to enter the subway. Head on down to the platform, take the train and you’ll find yourself on the carriages of the train, surrounded by enemies. Beat them all down and the train will arrive at the park just outside the stadium, unlocking this whole new mode of transportation for good.

This is why the Subway has some benefits and uses over just fast travelling across all of Metro City. Using the Subway always puts you into that survival mode-esque situation, surrounded by enemies, which means the chances for great loot and EXP are pretty high. Every time you ride the train, the configurations of enemies are changed too, and you can even find treasure chests, so sometimes it pays to invest in public transport.

Street Fighter 6 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5 and Xbox Series X & S.
