How long until it hits 30 million?

Valve seem to be going from strength to strength as lockdown and the COVID-19 pandemic rages on, as the Steam concurrent player record has been broken once again. Yesterday, on February 7th, 2021, Steam’s concurrent players managed to reach 26.4 million.

Steam’s Record Has Been Broken Again?

Yes, as the record was previously set in January 2021 at 25.4 million. Before that, the record was broken an additional six times back in 2020. With more people staying at home due to lockdown and the pandemic, more people have taken up gaming to pass the time or connect with their friends, and Steam has been there to reap the benefits.

The new Steam record was shared by the SteamDB Twitter account yesterday, stating that the concurrent players for Steam had managed to reach 26,401,443. The tweet might say 26.3 million, but it managed to reach 26.4m.

With Steam cracking through the 26 million barrier with ease, and with the fact the record has been broken 8 times since January 2020, it won’t be long before the record is broken once again. Anyone want to make the push for 30 million players by the end of 2021?
