Starship Troopers: Terran Command is a game of dynamic survival combat against a nigh-unstoppable horde of alien insects. You can enjoy the experience in a lengthy campaign or in separate challenge scenarios and the difficulty will affect how quickly or slowly or how many times you may have to restart to succeed in a given mission. Luckily, there’s an easy way of changing difficulty in Terran Command.

The difficulty level can be flexibly changed at the start of a campaign and at the start of any given mission within the campaign or as a separate scenario. If a particular mission proves too hard or too easy, you can simply restart and modify it after the intro cutscene to the desired level.

There are five levels of difficulty represented by stars. Difficulty levels simply increase or decrease the damage modifier of all friendly troops, essentially making the Arachnid foes more or less durable. The easiest level of difficulty increases weapon damage by a factor of 2, while the highest level cuts all damage in half.

Starship Troopers: Terran Command is a challenging game as is, and even on Normal, some of the bigger missions will be quite difficult and may require restarts or reloads to get right. Feel free to drop a level or two of difficulty to find the right pacing for your playthrough.

Starship Troopers: Terran Command is available on PC.
