Vanadium (or V) is a rare tier 2 resource that can be found across Starfield’s 1000 planets. You’ll want to comb through the galaxy to find this resource, as it’s used for a variety of crafting recipes, including but not limited to weapon and spacesuit mods, habitat structures, and ship upgrades.
Fortunately, you don’t have to jump too far to find it, as Vanadium can be found on a variety of planets and moons close to where you start your playthrough of Starfield. We’ve put together a list of easy-to-reach locations that house Vanadium.
- Grimsey (Narion System)
- Zamka (Alpha Centauri System)
- Voss (Alpha Centauri System)
- Belwah (Cheyenne System)
- Tau Ceti I (Tau Ceti System)
You can scan these planets and moons to see what resources they have. If they have the V with 2 stars next to it under the resource tab, then you’re good to go.
Upon landing at one of these locations, you’ll want to pull out your hand scanner to survey the surface. It will highlight all resources, making it easier to search for them from a distance.
When you find a Vanadium deposit, you can pull out your Cutter and mine away. The resource will be automatically added to your inventory.
Better yet, if you require lots of Vanadium, why not set up an outpost next to a Vanadium vein? Placing the required extractor on top will passively generate the resource over time. Installing storage crates will increase the yield of the resource, making it more valuable when you check back in after journeying through the Milky Way and beyond.
For a short-term strategy, you can always purchase it from one of your trusted vendors. Some easy-to-get-to vendors for Vanadium are listed below:
- Jemison Mercantile (New Atlantis Spaceport)
- Mining League (Neon)
- Midtown Minerals (Akila City)
Enemies and loot crates also have a chance to drop Vanadium, so you may come across some on your travels. Be sure to pick it up to either sell it or use it.
