Starfield: Where to Find Nickel

Starfield Nickel
Starfield Nickel

Nickel is a common resource in Starfield that is used for things like weapon and armor mods. Despite its supposedly common nature, it isn’t a nature that’s particularly easy to come across.

As with most resources, players can find Nickel on specific planets. Due to procedural generation, it’s impossible to give a complete list of planets where you can find Nickel but we’ve encountered it in abundance on Venus (Sol) and Niira (Narion), with a lot of planets in the Sol system in general also having Nickel deposits.

Simply select a planet and then scan it for resources, landing on the color coded part of the map where you can find the resource you need. You will need a Cutter to then be able to farm the deposit.

Players can even find Nickel at certain vendors, such as UC Distribution in New Atlantis, and it may even appear as general loot, though the chances of this aren’t very high. Remember to store it in your ship to avoid you getting overencumbered.

With Nickel, players can craft Weapon Mods like Compensators and Armor Mods like Ballistic Shielding. It can also be sold to vendors for credits.

Starfield is available on PC and Xbox.
