Fluorine (or F) is an uncommon tier 1 resource that you’ll need to craft various gear and structures throughout your playthrough in Starfield. It can be a difficult resource to miss, so we’ve put together a few methods to keep yourself fully stocked on Fluorine, so you’ll always have some when you need it.
The first way is to scan planets and moons that house the resource. Under the resource tab of each location, look for F. If you can’t find any, here’s a selection of locations that you can go to early in Starfield:
- Niira (Narion System)
- Sumati (Narion System)
- Cruth (Narion System)
- Rhea (Sol)
- Procyon III (Procyon System)
- Hardpoint (Cheyenne System)
- Kalira (Cheyenne System)
- Tau Ceti IV (Tau Ceti System)
When you land at any of these locations, it’s best to pull out your hand scanner and search for the resource from afar. Since it’s an uncommon rarity, it shouldn’t take you long to find the Fluorine deposit.
It’s worth noting that this resource cannot be mined like the minerals in Starfield. Instead, you’ll have to approach the Fluorine deposit and interact with it. Doing so will place the item in your inventory.
Setting up an outpost in these locations will give you larger quantities of Fluorine and is best used when you require a substantial amount of the resource.
Fluorine drops from corpses and loot crates are also a viable option, though this is in the hands of RNG, and that loot pool is big enough as it is.
If you want a short-term solution, you can always purchase Fluorine from one of the many vendors across the stars. Here are a few easy-to-reach vendors that you can encounter early in Starfield.
- Jemison Mercantile (New Atlantis Spaceport)
- UC Distribution Center (New Atlantis Commercial District)
It’s not too expensive, and you can buy it in large quantities from each vendor if you want to stock up.
