Antimony (or Sb) is an exotic tier 3 resource that can be extremely difficult to find in the vast space of Starfield. You can use this resource to craft powerful gear and upgrades to really dial gameplay mechanics like combat and health up to 11.
The first way to obtain Antimony is to scan various planets and moons. If Sb appears under the resource tab of the locations, then it’s time to grab your Cutter and get to landing.
Finding this resource throughout the 1000 planets in Starfield is like bringing your starter pistol to a Terrormorph lair, so we’ve picked a few locations that you can access fairly early on in your playthrough.
- Indum III-a (Indum System)
- Indum IV-d (Indum System)
- Maheo VII (Maheo System)
- Gasparis (Lunara System)
- Beta Andraste I-c (Beta Andraste System)
You likely won’t need this resource until the mid-game, but it’s still essential that you stock up on it to craft the higher-end gear as you level up your character.
When you land on one of these locations, you’ll be searching for Antimony deposits that can be found scattered throughout the surface. Use your hand scanner to easily identify the resource from a distance; because of its exotic rarity, you won’t see it as frequently as the other resources.
Setting up an outpost next to an Antimony vein is the most effective way to farm this resource. You can even sell the excess to make some decent profits that will no doubt help you further in your playthrough.
Placing an extractor over an Antimony vein will allow you to passively generate this resource while you explore other far-flung reaches of the galaxy. Check back in from time to time to add this resource to your inventory or, if you’d prefer, set up a Transfer Container to deliver it to your ship’s cargo hold.
A short-term strategy if you just need it now without the fuss is to purchase it from select vendors. Some easy ones to find early in your playthrough are:
- UC Distribution Center (New Atlantis Commercial District)
- Jemison Mercantile (New Atlantis Spaceport)
- Mining League (Neon)
- Midtown Minerals (Akila City)
