As a game with a lot of star systems, you better believe that Starfield also has a lot of systems that it cannot explain without overwhelming the player completely. Whether it’s base building or research, it can be very easy to get lost in everything that Starfield has to offer, including not really understanding what’s going on with your own character. You might notice that your character is walking extremely slowly, but there’s an easy fix that isn’t to do with what you might think.
To fix your slow walking character in Starfield, you likely just need to press caps lock if you’re on PC, as this is the default binding to make your character walk slower for stealth, etc. It’s also how you can get around while overencumbered without taking CO2 “damage,” but it sure is slow.
There you go, a very simple solution for quite the befuddling problem. I remember walking very slowly across the surface of Mars for a good ten minutes before I figured out what was going wrong — here’s hoping it’s not just me that accidentally presses keys.
If you need more help in Starfield, be sure to read up on how you can access your Constellation Skin Pack.
Starfield is available on PC and Xbox.
