Lead (or Pb) is a common resource found throughout Starfield’s 1000 explorable planets and is also one of the more frequent materials needed for base building and gear crafting.
A decent and early hotspot for lead can be found on Mars in the Sol system, which you will travel to briefly as part of The Old Neighbourhood main quest.
You’ll find these lead deposits scattered across the surface of Mars, which you can swiftly mine with your Cutter. The material will then be placed in your inventory under the resource tab.
Jemison (home to the United Colonies) is also a planet brimming with lead resources that you can take advantage of, as it’s another easy-to-reach planet you’ll visit many times throughout your playthrough.
Setting up outposts on either planet is an easy way to farm lead and is recommended, as you’ll need it to craft most things in Starfield. Having a constant supply of the resource will benefit you in the early game as well as during the end game.
Additionally, you can buy lead from most vendors throughout the systems in Starfield. An easy one to go to is Jemison Mercantile, located in New Atlantis, who will have lead for sale.
