Sony’s PlayStation Classic Released Today

But are you still excited for it?

PlayStation Classic

After plenty of waiting, Sony are finally releasing their much-anticipated (but not quite as much as it used to be) PlayStation Classic today (December 3rd).

The mini-console developed hot on the wheels of Nintendo’s offerings comes with twenty pre-loaded games, two original PlayStation controllers, and that iconic noise when you turn it on, which I’d probably pay good money for on its own.

However, the reception to the PlayStation Classic has certainly been mixed to date. Many reviewers feel that it just about does the job without many frills while others think its line-up doesn’t really reflect the variety and quality of the original console. Most recently, some of the games being the PAL version instead of NTSC has also caused concern.

Here are those twenty games in question:

Battle Arena Toshinden
Cool Boarders 2
Destruction Derby
Final Fantasy VII
Grand Theft Auto
Intelligent Qube
Jumping Flash!
Metal Gear Solid
Mr. Driller
Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee
Rayman
Resident Evil Director’s Cut
Revelations: Persona
Ridge Racer Type 4
Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo
Syphon Filter
Tekken 3
Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six
Twisted Metal
Wild Arms

Are you still aboard the PlayStation Classic hype train or have you really cooled your interest? I might get one, but I’m not going to rush. I already have a lot of new games to play through, let alone twenty older ones that may ruin my nostalgia.
