Reports and rumours have emerged today suggesting that Sony could hold a PS5 focused digital conference from as early as next week. The reports initially come from VentureBeat’s Jeff Grubb, who has said that Sony will be holding an event in early June for a few weeks now.

Now, Jason Schreier and Takashi Mochizuki of Bloomberg are reporting that this early June PS5 event could be held on June 3rd, according to those close to the matter. That said, they’re quick to warn that plans are always in flux and that Sony could easily reschedule, so take it with a pinch of salt. The news did prompt Jeff Grubb to edit his database of upcoming gaming events, which has become a bit of a mess since E3’s cancellation, let’s be honest.

Gematsu are also reporting that Sony will follow up with a State of Play episode, scheduled for August, which will focus on both PS4 and PS5 games. It’s going to be a busy couple of months for gaming news, that’s for sure. Would you like to see a PS5 event take place next week? Let us know in the comments.
