Sony Raising Price Of First Party Games To £70/$70 On PS5

So much for the difference between dollars and pounds, I guess.

Sony have joined 2K and Activision in offering their first party next-gen titles with the price point of $70. However, Sony also appear to be upping the price in the UK to £70, which is a bit more of an increase in all honesty. Currently, games retail for around $60/£50, so upping the price to $70/£70 is a huge mark up for UK consumers.

These are the prices for games like Demon’s Souls, Destruction All Stars and Spider-Man: Miles Morales – Ultimate Edition, but there are some exceptions. The standard version of Spider-Man: Miles Morales will cost $50/£52, which is still a mark up for UK players, and Sackboy: A Big Adventure, which will cost $60/£60.

It’s not unheard of for console games to cost around £60 or more, especially around the release of a new console, but the fact there’s no difference between US and UK prices doesn’t feel too great. The next-gen versions Far Cry 6 and Watch Dogs: Legion are also retailing for around $60/£60, though you can still pick up the previous gen versions for a bit cheaper and still enjoy the next-gen benefits.
