Serious Sam 4: Planet Badass Announced, Full Reveal At E3

Serious Sam

Croteam and Devolver Digital have announced that their manic first person shooter series Serious Sam is returning once again in Serious Sam 4: Planet Badass.

The announcement came as part of a new teaser trailer which seems to show some in-engine footage of the game, as Sam rides a motorcycle through some lush forests. If the shot at the end of the trailer is anything to go by, the landscape will be looking a lot more red by the time Sam is through.

Croteam have stated that there will be no other details about the game revealed until E3 2018, but that’s just under two months away so we won’t have to wait long. However, the trailer seems to suggest a lot more of what we’re used to with Serious Sam. The classic Beheaded Kamikaze makes an appearance, along with what appear to be a few Khnum enemies in the final shot. The logo of the game also includes Sam standing alongside 8 silhouettes, which could be a sign of multiplayer or a squad element being front and center.

The last proper Serious Sam game was Serious Sam 3: BFE, which came out back in 2011, so the timing is right for a new game in the series. So far, only a Steam version has been confirmed, but Sam usually ends up on consoles at some point, so it’s not unreasonable to expect the same here. We’ll find out more at E3 in June.
