SEGA have finally announced their long teased Sonic racing game follow-up, titled Team Sonic Racing. Well, they announced it after it was leaked by Walmart anyway. Score one for website distribution fuck ups.

The new game will be developed by Sumo Digital, who have developed the previous two Sonic kart racing games, which were both excellent. Hopefully the series will remain in good hands.

Team Sonic Racing, unlike the other Kart games, will be focusing more on the Sonic franchise exclusively. The game will feature 15 characters on launch and up to 12 player online support. Racers will have to work as a team in order to win, whilst the Wisps will make a return, acting as power-ups. Team Sonic Racing will also feature a fully fledged Adventure mode, though more details will be revealed in the coming days.

Team Sonic Racing will be launching in the winter on PS4, Xbox One, PC and the Nintendo Switch. Are you excited for it, or are you too distracted by the Fallout 76 news to care? Let us know in the comments below.
