Rumor: Assassin’s Creed Empire Might Actually Be Assassin’s Creed Origins

If you feel like Assassin’s Creed Empire was a pretty cool name for a video game, we’ve got some possible bad news for you. The newest game in the wrist-stabby Ubisoft franchise may actually be called Assassin’s Creed Origins when all is said and done.

That is, if you believe your average Redditor. It’s kind of easy to discredit him as he provides zero actual evidence, instead suggesting that he knows the name of the AC game because he works for a company that deals in pre-order cards for stores like GameStop, which sounds wildly specific.

Here’s what he had to say:

“I didn’t get to look at it for long but it was art for a reservation card for a US retailer. The game is called Assassin’s Creed Origins and looks very much like it’s set in Egypt. The artwork had a city with a pyramid in the background. In the centre of the card there is the new assassin walking toward the city. It looked like he was carrying a shield, a bow, and he had a hawk of some sort on his shoulder. Last bit of note is the reservation is for the Gold edition of the game which has the base game, the season pass and comes in a steelbook packaging. No idea what the price will be. This isn’t the first time that I’ve found out about a game thanks to my work and in past experiences the game is usually announced before our printer ships the cards, or shortly after. I believe these are scheduled to shipped on the 30th so the official announcement should come by then.”

What do you think to that? Wait until it’s announced, I say.

The next Assassin’s Creed game has been heavily rumoured to be based in Egypt after several screenshots were leaked online. Even though we wanted Ubisoft to take a bit more of a break, they are reportedly jumping right back into the AC world with a new trilogy, which will start with “Origins”.
