Rocket Arena Out Today On PC, PS4 & Xbox One

I'm gonna rocket.

Rocket Arena

Rocket Arena, EA’s latest live service game, releases today (July 14th) for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Rocket Arena is a third-person 3v3 shooter that shares some basic similarities with the likes of Overwatch due to its hero abilities, but its focus on rockets helps it stand out a little. If in doubt, chuck some rockets in.

You can unlock Rocket Parts, Totem Parts, and more for gaining experience with new maps and characters being added for free each season. It’s a premium experience that will cost $29.99/£24.99 at launch, but will also come with microtransactions. The first season of the game will launch on July 28th.

Here’s the trailer:

“Rockets rule everything in Rocket Arena, an explosive 3v3 shooter where you’re never out of the action. Master your hero’s unique rockets and abilities to rule the arena and become a champion. Let’s Rocket!”

If you’re wondering why you’ve heard so little about Rocket Arena, it doesn’t seem that EA have done a great job of getting the word out there at all. It was “revealed” last month, but it’s actually been in the public eye since last year when it was published by Nexon with an open beta. It was also planned as a free-to-play title at that time.

Rocket Arena has received positive reviews so far with a rating of 76 over on Metacritic, though it seems that reviewers were only able to play its PC version. While the gameplay is fun, critics have noted its light amount of content and question its ability to last the distance.

Rocket Arena will feature cross-platform play, so that might help it to stand out a little. It will be available as part of Origin Access Premier for PC from day one. Are you interested in the game at all, or is the first you’ve heard of it?
