WWE Hall of Fame inductee, Rob Van Dam, was all set to make his in-ring return at the Royal Rumble 2022. Though unfortunately, plans were nixed at the very last minute when WWE decided against the idea of RVD making a surprise appearance in the Men’s Rumble match. Instead, RVD was kept as a substitute entrant for if any scheduled wrestlers couldn’t make their spot.

‘Mr Monday Night’ revealed that he had even commissioned a brand-new attire for the event, fully expecting to be included in this year’s 30-man affair. Though, Van Dam personally sees at least a few matches left in the tank with plenty of stars on the main roster left for RVD to tick off the bucket list.

The former WWE Champion last appeared for the company in 2014, competing against the likes of Alberto Del Rio, Cesaro and members of The Shield before returning to Impact Wrestling and the independent scene. RVD then returned to be inducted into the 2021 WWE Hall of Fame.
