Rebellion’s Strange Brigade Release Date Revealed

Strange Brigade

Rebellion have announced that their upcoming co-op shooter Strange Brigade will be released on August 28th for PS4, Xbox One and PC, which is also a day after my birthday if you’re interested. I think I know what I’m asking for this year.

If you’re unaware of Strange Brigade, it’s a four player co-op shooter set in the 1930’s where you take on hordes of Ancient Egyptian monsters, find loot, dodge traps and solve puzzles. We got a hands-on with it at EGX 2017 last September, saying the following:

Though the single player campaign could potentially be less of a thrilling experience, Strange Brigade has all the makings of a top quality 4 player shooter. This is certainly one to keep an keen eye on before it releases next year.

Today’s release date announcement comes with a new story trailer, which you can check out below, that gives you more of an idea of the threat facing our charismatic explorers. Say hello to the Witch Queen Seteki, who plans to use the monstrous hordes of the undead for her own nefarious purposes. It’s up to our adventurers to give evil the whallop it so desperately deserves.

Pre-orders are now live for Strange Brigade, and like most games these days, they come in three distinct flavours. The standard edition includes the game and the free Secret Service Weapons Pack, which features the Wilkers & White P19 pistol, the Stoudenmire 960 submachine gun, and the Gehrig-Delgane S1 rifle. The Digital Deluxe Edition includes all that, plus the Season Pass that promises new characters, campaigns, weapons, items and more.

Finally, and perhaps most notably, the Collector’s Edition shown in the image below includes the following goodies:

– Strange Brigade boxed edition (PlayStation 4 and Xbox One only)
– Steelbook case
– Secret Service Weapons Pack DLC
– Airship model that you can build yourself
– 64-page art book
– Exclusive suitcase design and sleeve
