Rainbow Six Siege Operators Coming To Ghost Recon Wildlands

Ghost Recon: Wildlands

Following on in a similar vein to the Splinter Cell event, it’s been announced that Ghost Recon Wildlands’ second Year 2 update will bring a Rainbow Six Siege crossover that focuses on the backstory of the operator Caveira.

The update, which will be free for all players on PS4, Xbox One and PC from today, introduces Valkyrie, Twitch and Cav into the world of Ghost Recon through Operation Archangel. With Caveira missing in Bolivia, Valkyrie tasks the Ghosts with helping Twitch find her.

If you manage to complete the Operation Archangel story arc before August 14th, you’ll be awarded with Caveira’s gloves as a customisation item. Far from just being a fashion item, equipping them will allow you to perform Cav’s takedown move from Siege, and yes, it will reveal the location of enemies nearby. You’ll also be able to equip her Luison handgun and HK 416 assault rifle, along with some Twitch and Valkyrie themed cosmetics.

As for the PvP mode, Ghost War, players will be given two additional classes also based on Siege operators. Toxic is similar to Smoke, as he uses poisonous gas to drive away would-be attackers, or to finish downed opponents if you’re feeling spicy. Surgeon is basically the same as Doc, using a Stim Gun to perform revives from a distance. The update will also bring two new maps, Factory and Checkpoint, along with an Observer Mode.

This new update will also see the inclusion of a new permadeath mode, the aptly titled Ghost Mode, for those particularly hardcore players, along with a few other changes. For more details, check out the Ghost Recon website, and let us know if you’ll be venturing back into Bolivia in the comments.
