PSA: You Can Still Claim The PS5 Version Of Bugsnax Without The New Console

Thank you, PS Plus.

Bugsnax

One of the biggest announcements heading into the launch of the PS5 was that the PS5 version of Bugsnax would be available as a PS Plus title until the end of the year, similar to how Fall Guys launched onto the subscription service. Fortunately, even if you’re not picking up a PS5 immediately, you can still claim the game ahead of time, so it’s ready and waiting when you do get the new console.

So How Do I Go About That?

The official PlayStation website contains the PS Plus games for November 2020, including Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor, Hollow Knight: Voidheart Edition and Bugsnax. At the bottom of the page, it says “Don’t own a PS5 yet? Add Bugsnax to your game library and it’ll be saved for as long as you’re a PS Plus member.”

It’s as simple as that, and it removes the two month time limit on purchasing a PS5 to claim Bugsnax. While you’ll still need to buy the PS4 version if you want to play the game on current-gen hardware, it’s a great move that allows players to pick up a PS5 in their own time. Bugsnax will still be ready and waiting.
