For the dozen or so players who have managed to get one, tomorrow will see new updates for the PlayStation 5.

What’s New for the PlayStation 5?

In an official blog post, Sony announced that the September system software update “includes a variety of enhancements to the PS5 console experience as well as 3D audio support for built-in TV speakers. It also features M.2 SSD storage expansion, which enables PS5 players to store and play PS5 games, PS4 games, and media apps directly from the expanded high-speed storage.”

In addition, the software update will expand PS Remote Play’s support for mobile device features, and the ability to view Share Screen broadcasts through the PS App on Thursday, September 23rd.

These upgrades and changes further contribute to factors that actually differentiate the new generation of consoles from the previous one, even as console buyers continue to have to hunt for the latest model. By adding these new features and upgrading the software, Sony makes the PlayStation look more appealing for consumers still debating whether the PS4 is meeting all of their gaming needs, given the lack of PS5 exclusive titles.

Sony has also posted a walkthrough video explaining these new changes.
