PS4 v6.20 Firmware Update Available Now, Doesn’t Do Much

The PS4 v6.20 update is out now, but don't get too excited.

PS4 Pro

As a welcome Christmas present for 2018, Sony have released a PlayStation 4 update that brings gifting, custom Twitch frames, and name changes. Only kidding: it’s another one of those stability patches that brings so much joy.

The v6.20 firmware update for the PS4 is nothing fancy at all, promising to improve system performance and that’s about it. My system’s performance is so good at this point that it should probably have a one man off-Broadway show.

The file size for the update is roughly 400 MB. You should see it in your downloads as soon as you boot up your console, otherwise you can go to your settings and manually push the update from there.

As for the PSN name changes, those are expected sometime in 2019 after a beta period so you are unfortunately stuck with ButtStank91 for another Christmas.
