Alongside their announcement of the PS Plus games for July 2020, Sony have announced that PS4 users can experience a free multiplayer weekend this weekend, meaning PS4 users will be able to play online regardless of whether or not they’re subscribed to PS Plus.
The news, which is mentioned on the official PlayStation Blog, comes as the service is celebrating its 10th birthday. If people haven’t experienced online multiplayer through their PS4, they can play online for free from July 4th at 12:01AM through to July 5th at 11:59PM (local time for both).
On top of a free weekend, there will also be a free theme available on the PlayStation Store at some point this week to celebrate the 10 year anniversary. The theme will only be available for a limited time though, so be sure to snap it up when it drops.
