Nintendo and The Pokémon Company have revealed that the first expansion for Pokémon Sword and Shield, The Isle of Armor, will launch on the Nintendo Switch on June 17th. The news was announced via a new trailer that reveals a host of details about the first expansion and upcoming follow-up DLC, The Crown Tundra.

The Isle of Armor will include some quality of life updates, including the ability to create a “Max Soup” from certain rare items, which will allow you to grant a Gigantamax ability to certain Pokémon, which is a large improvement over having to find said Pokémon out in the wild.

The official website includes a host of new information, especially regarding the Crown Tundra expansion which is set to launch in the autumn. When it launches, you can encounter the Galarian forms of the legendaries Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres, along with two brand new legendaries from the Regi family: Regieleki and Regidrago.
