Pokémon Scarlet and Violet may feature plenty of changes from the classic Pokémon formula, but there’s one thing that’s gladly stayed the same: to stop your Pokémon from evolving.
To stop your Pokémon evolving in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, simply press B while they are evolving to stop the process. You will next have the chance to evolve them when they level up again.
If you want your Pokémon to never evolve without you constantly having to press B each time, make sure they hold an Everstone, which can be bought from the Delibird Presents shop in Mesagoza for 3,000 Pokedollars.
As for why you would want to do this, some earlier stage Pokémon can learn useful moves that their “grown-up” counterparts cannot. Also, some people can get attached to their Pokémon and how they look, specifically starter Pokémon like Quaxly and Sprigatito. However, abilities and strength plateau early with certain Pokémon, so bear that in mind.
