Following on from the Pokémon GO Kanto Tour event earlier this year, which allowed you to encounter all Kanto based Pokémon, Niantic have decided to continue that theme for next year and have recently announced the Johto tour. This will be a ticketed event based around Johto and the Pokémon that can be caught there, and similar to the Kanto tour, you will have the choice of two tickets – Gold or Silver.

Differences between Gold and Silver Version
You probably had a tough decision back when Pokémon Gold and Silver came out as to which one to get, depending on who your favourite Pokémon or Legendary was. Now, it’s time to make that choice again.
To catch all the Pokémon available for this event, you’ll need to trade with someone who picked the opposite version to you, so make sure you find a friend who wants Gold if you want Silver. You don’t have to pick until nearer the time, but here are the different Pokémon that you’ll encounter depending on your choice:
Gold
– Spinarak, Gligar, Teddiursa and Mantine will be attracted to Incense
– Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Totodile, Spinarak, Igglybuff, Natu, Hoppip, Sunkern, Misdreavus, Wobbuffet, Gligar, Shuckle, Teddiursa, Swinub, Mantine and Ho-oh will have a higher chance of being Shiny
Silver
– Ledyba, Delibird, Skarmory and Phanpy will be attracted to Incense
– Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Totodile, Ledyba, Cleffa, Sudowoodo, Hoppip, Yanma, Pineco, Delibird, Skarmory, Houndour, Phanpy, Miltank, Larvitar and Lugia will have a higher chance of being Shiny
Have you made your decision yet? It’s a tough choice, but maybe your favourite is in one or the other. You’ve still got some time to decide yet. If you purchase your ticket before January 10th, you will get access to the Special January and February Timed Research, which is part of the Season of Heritage. Any tickets purchased after this date will only have access to February’s Timed Research. So, make sure you’ve made your decision by then.
Pokémon GO is available on iOS and Android.
