How to Play Genshin Impact on Steam

Genshin Impact is an online open world RPG that’s completely free to play. It was originally developed for Android and iOS but eventually became so popular that it was ported to PC, PS4, and PS5 and released in September 2020.

Adding Genshin Impact to Steam

Luckily, it’s very simple to add non-Steam games, like Genshin Impact, to Steam. Make sure you’ve installed the game and it’s ready to play before following these steps.

• Launch Steam to open the digital video game platform.
• Click “+ Add A Game” in the bottom-left corner of the window.
  • Select the “Add a Non-Steam Game…” option from the pop-up list.
  • You’re also able to add a non-Steam game from the Games tab.
• A new window will be created that shows a list of the content you’re able to add as a non-Steam game.
  • Find Genshin Impact on the content list.
  • If you’re unable to find Genshin Impact within the list, click on “Browse”.
    • Use the search function to locate the game.
• Once found, check the box next to the game’s title.
• Click on “Add Selected Programs”.
• Find Genshin Impact in your Steam library.
• Right-click on the shortcut and select “Properties”.
  • Change the destination directory to the location where the game is installed.
    • It should look like this: C:\Program Files\Genshin Impact\Genshin Impact Game\GenshinImpact.exe
