FIFA 23 is finally here, with a whole new year of digital football to look forward to (and try not to snap your controller over when someone cheeses you in a match). However, the cost of buying a similar game each year can really stack up (especially if you play FUT), so you’re probably wondering how to get FIFA 23 for cheap.
Well, the easiest way to get FIFA 23 for a more affordable price is by playing on PC and signing up to EA Play Pro, a subscription service from EA that allows players to play their new games ahead of wide release at a discounted price. Think of it like Game Pass but for EA’s products and you’re not far off the mark.
EA Play Pro costs £14.99/$14.99 a month or £89.99$99.99 a year, with subscribers unlocking the Ultimate Edition of FIFA 23, which includes the following:
– FIFA 23
– 4600 FIFA Points
– 3 Days Early Access
– Career Mode Homegrown Talent
– Untradeable FUT Ones to Watch item
– Untradeable TOTW 1 Player
– Kylian Mbappé Loan Player Item
– FUT Ambassador Loan Player Pick
This means that EA Play Pro subscribers will be able to play early just like everyone who’s bought the Ultimate Edition without needing to fork over the $99.99/£89.99 asking price. FIFA 23 unlocks early for EA Play Pro subscribers at 3PM BST / 10 AM ET on September 26th, 2022 with preload currently available. You will need to make an Origin account, but this should take about five minutes.
How much value you get out of playing FIFA 23 for cheap like this really depends on how long you intend to play FIFA 23 for across its life cycle. If, like a lot of players, you tend to either only play Career Mode or drop off the game and move on to something else after a month or so, £14.99/$14.99 a month represents a bit of a steal, with you paying almost a quarter of the price. However, you may want to think twice before paying for a full year of EA Play Pro, as it costs the same as the Ultimate Edition at $99.99/£89.99.
However, considering that an EA Play Pro subscription also gives you access to all of the games in the EA Sports catalogue and everything from EA in general (including AAA blockbusters like Dead Space and STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor), it works out at quite the solid deal.
Also, as a final note: don’t forget that the PC version of FIFA 23 is the most current version of the game, so it’s finally at parity with PS5 and Xbox Series X & S.
FIFA 23 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X & S, and Switch.
