Is FIFA 23 On PC Next-Gen?

A lot of (warranted) fuss was made over FIFA 22 not being the next-gen (or should that now be current?) version of FIFA that was seen on PS5 and Xbox Series X & S, after FIFA 21 also cut corners. But now it seems that’s changing with FIFA 23, the last FIFA game that EA will release.

Better late than never.

EA has confirmed that FIFA 23 on PC will be the next-gen version that last year’s game should have been, HyperMotion2 and all. This means that PC players will now be able to enjoy the same game as those on consoles, and perhaps even have better performance. Here’s hoping they actually including some settings this time instead of a pop-up with like three things to tick and untick.

And, best of all, it’s cheaper, with the Steam version of FIFA 23’s Standard Edition selling for £59.99 instead of £69.99, with the Ultimate Edition also being cheaper overall.

Here’s a quick look at the system requirements for PC:

MINIMUM:
OS: Windows 10 64-bit
Processor: Intel Core i5 6600k or AMD Ryzen 5 1600
Memory: 8 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti or AMD Radeon RX 570
DirectX: Version 12
Network: Broadband Internet connection
Storage: 100 GB available space

RECOMMENDED:
OS: Windows 10 64-bit
Processor: Intel Core i7 6700 or AMD Ryzen 7 2700X
Memory: 12 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 or AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT
DirectX: Version 12
Network: Broadband Internet connection
Storage: 100 GB available space

Sadly for Switch owners though, it looks like EA has given up on doing even the bare minimum to release a “new” FIFA on the platform.

FIFA 23 launches on September 30th, 2022, or even earlier if you’re willing to splash the cash.
