Shiny Pokémon are fun to collect and even more exciting to pull, but it’s been a while since The Pokémon Company introduced a set that contained them. The Sun & Moon series brought us Hidden Fates, and the Sword & Shield series brought us Shining Fates, so what is the Scarlet & Violet series bringing us next? Well, it’s Paldean Fates.

The Pokémon Company originally announced the special expansion in October, but they continued to tease us on Thursday (Nov. 16) with the official reveal – giving us our first look at some of the cards we can expect to see in the set. For those wondering when they’ll see Shiny Pokémon again, they’re coming.

Where to Pre-Order Paldean Fates Cards

Now that we’ve had our first real look at the Paldean Fates set, there’s one question on everyone’s mind – when and where can we start pre-ordering packs? Don’t worry – that process began on November 16th when the Paldean Fates Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box was added to the Pokémon Center.

As of right now, the Elite Trainer Box is the only product available for pre-order on the Pokémon Center – it can be yours for $59.99 – but there are several other places you can find pre-orders today:

Over the next few weeks, you’ll start to see more online retailers and local game shops accepting Paldean Fates pre-orders. You’ll also see the Pokémon Center add more products to the pre-order list – including the new Tech Sticker Collection 3-Pack Blister and the Booster Bundle (six booster packs).

Where to Buy Paldean Fates Cards

If you’re waiting for the official release, you have about 10 weeks to continue building out your Paradox Rift collection before Paldean Fates hits the shelves. When release day finally comes (January 26, 2024), Pokémon fans will have various options to choose from – but it’ll be first come, first served.

Here are some of the best places to buy Paldean Fates cards (once released):

  • Pokémon Center – this is the official online store for The Pokémon Company. They run out of stock fast, so act quickly.
  • Major Retailers – you’ll find Paldean Fates packs at Target, Best Buy, GameStop, Walmart, Meijer, and Barnes & Noble.
  • Local Game Shops – if you want to support local businesses, your local game shop will likely have a limited supply of Paldean Fates products.
  • Online Retailers – you’ll find Paldean Fates packs at Collector’s Cache, Troll & Toad, TCG Stadium, TCGplayer, Hobbiesville, and Toy Wiz.
  • C2C Marketplaces – platforms like Facebook Marketplace, Mercari, eBay, Amazon, and OfferUp will have Paldean Fates, but be careful who you buy them from.

Keep in mind that this is a special expansion, which means individual booster packs (10 cards) and booster boxes (36 packs, 360 cards) won’t be available. Don’t worry – booster bundles will be available, and you can also find packs in the elite trainer boxes, ex tins, collection boxes, blisters, and mini tins.

So far, we know that Paldean Fates will contain more than 240 cards – including 91 cards in the standard set and more than 100 Shiny Pokémon. It’s going to be packed with shiny cardboard and chase cards, but we’ll have to wait another 10 weeks before we can open packs – January 26, 2024, to be exact.
