Overwatch’s Latest Hero, Orisa, Has Just Gone Live

Overwatch’s latest tank hero, Orisa, has finally come off of the PTR and is live in-game right now.

She is a centaur-looking “anchor tank”, who was built by a Numbani resident and child genius named Efi, who built Orisa to help protect the residents of Numbani from Doomfist and other threats to their homeland. You can view her origin story and see Jeff Kaplan, Overwatch’s game director, talking about Orisa here.

Players on all platforms can update their games right now to start playing as Orisa, but she is not currently available in competitive. There are plans to add her in the near future though, after gamers have gotten used to her play style, and presumably after any bugs/glitches have been found and fixed.

Along with the addition of being able to play as Orisa, the new Overwatch update includes some balance changes. Ana’s rifle does less damage (decreased from 80 to 60), Zarya’s barrier doesn’t protect from knockback any more, and there’s also been tweaks to maps in Competitive Play. You can view the full list of fixes and updates here.
