Just in case you’ve been living on a desert island or have segregated yourself from civilisation for a few months, Overwatch is huge. It has one of the most passionate communities out there, which has contributed towards it now becoming the fastest selling PC game ever.

The data comes from industry expert Daniel Ahmad, who reported that Overwatch has over 15 million players worldwide with a lot more than expected coming from China. It managed to gazump Diablo III, also by Blizzard.

Unsurprisingly, Overwatch takes up an absolutely massive chunk of the company’s revenue, pulling in $500 million out of $738 million for the quarter.

Not bad for an overhyped and content-light asset flip, right?
Overwatch is actually the real deal. I have personally dropped 50 hours into it and its addictiveness has resulted in the loss of many a working day. I gave it a glowing review and also placed it at the top spot for the best game of the year so far.
