Observer

Horror specialists Bloober Team have today revealed the follow-up to their cyberpunk horror game Observer, Observer System Redux, which will be arriving for the next-gen of consoles.

Very little is shown in the announcement trailer for Observer System Redux, just the exterior of a building and then the logo for the game.

You can check it for yourself below.

Judging from the name, Observer System Redux sounds like a remake or remaster rather than a sequel — that’s the first thing I thought when I saw it. It would be odd for such a staggered reveal to be just for a retooling of an already fairly new game, though.

We will find out more in a full reveal at an unannounced date. However, due to the unfortunate passing of Rutger Hauer, who played Daniel Lazarski superbly in the original, we may be looking at a new protagonist if it does end up being a true sequel.

Observer System Redux is the latest horror game announced for PS5 and Xbox Series X following the previously announced Rainbow Six Quarantine and Dying Light 2.

The original Observer is out now for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch. Bloober’s most recent game was Blair Witch, an adaptation of the horror franchise that received a mixed reception.
