We’ve heard the reports of NXT coming to TV for a while now, but now it looks like it’s finally happening. The Wrestling Observer has reported that WWE’s third brand will be appearing on The USA Network, starting September 18th. Conveniently in time for AEW’s own TV debut in October.

Whether this move is deliberate or convenient is left purely to speculation in, what is seemingly, WWE’s attempt to undermine their potential competitors.

The show will be two-hours in length, at 8-10pm Eastern Time, in direct competition with AEW on TNT.
The news seems to have spread through the business world as shares have increased by $2.57 in preparation of tonight’s Monday Night Raw announcement. You can expect a string of live dates to accompany the reveal, especially with the starting date being so close.

It isn’t clear yet what will happen to the tapings that are shown on the WWE Network, whether it plays alongside its TV time slot or has a delay on its Network release. Regardless, it will leave the question open: What’s happening with my Network subscription? As NXT is a staple part of the Networks appeal.

The Observer also reports on events happening at tonight’s RAW: AJ Styles vs Braun Strowman in a US title match, the first couple of bouts from the King of the Ring tournament – Samoa Joe vs Cesaro and Cedric Alexander vs Sami Zayn – and Jerry Lawler questioning Sasha Banks in a return of the King’s Court. We can only hope that Jerry can restrain some of his Attitude Era catchphrases while interviewing ‘The Boss’.

There will be plenty more news to come regarding NXT’s TV debut and we will hopefully be finding out more tonight. Though the worrying thought looms: will Vince have more of a say in NXT now it’s going to TV?
